Based in the crypto-friendly, Singapore, Huobi is a multi-purpose cryptocurrency exchange. Offering extensive spot markets, with a variety of Altcoins and ERC20 tokens paired across BTC, ETH, USDT and Huobi’s own ERC20 token, HT (Huobi Token). Also, 3x-leveraged crypto-markets with around 40 pairs in BTC and USDT are also available.
There’s an OTC (Over-the-counter) exchange page with a simple and effective list of Buy and Sell options for BTC, ETH, USDT and EOS coins. With Chinese Yuan, US Dollars and Singapore Dollars as possible deposit currencies.
Ease of use
The UI is clean, user-friendly and perfectly designed with all the basic requirements for a crypto-trader. The charting software is provided by Tradingview, which is exactly what you want! Plus, something which we quite like, is the variable slider for order-sizing on Huobi which all the other sites lock to 25% increments.
Even with the variety of trading options on Huobi, it’s extremely simple to use. The OTC trading-desk, with transfer options like bank-transfers, PayPal and Alipay, is an easy to use payment gateway. With a secure exchange to diversify your investment, right next door, too.
Huobi Fees
Fee rates for market-maker and market-taker are both 0.2% which puts Huobi on the higher end of the crypto-exchange fees range. Huobi offers a points system; you can buy points in exchange for various fee discounts. Your fees will be deducted from your points balance.
Huobi Support
Huobi’s site has 13 different languages to choose from. Support is available through a ticket service on their site, they are active on Twitter and have Telegram for live support.
Huobi Limits
If you’re purely spot-trading Altcoins then you don’t need ID verification which makes signing up and trading straight away, seamless. But withdrawal limits are low compared to verified account withdrawal limits.
Verification will also be required for margin and OTC-trading – one I.D. document (passport, driving license or residents ID card) plus a selfie with the ID to be submitted – it’s easy and painless.
Reputation
Huobi has been open for business since 2013 and has never been hacked. They were primarily a Chinese exchange with CNY currency options but have since moved into the global market and USDT. Customer experiences vary, with the usual sprinkling of salt, but our experience is that exchange is fast, secure and functional. The exchange moving away from China and into wider market-places, along with a massive increase in available coins and tokens over the past year or two shows they are making big successful moves in the crypto market-space.
Security
As you must expect from any exchange, 2-Factor Authentication (2FA), is available with Huobi via SMS or Google Authenticator App. Note: when starting a new account on any exchange it is extremely important to enable 2FA as soon as you create your acc. Huobi has never been hacked, showing their security is up to task.
