Social Impact fundraising
In the first clip of this series we sit down with Andrea from Fvtura.com We first met Andrea four months ago, you can view that clip here. Every type of business has a different set of challenges when fundraising, but also offers different opportunities. We discuss with Andrea the challenges that exist when raising funds for activities where the focus is not always about profit but centred around creating value and improving the lives of others.
What options are available to raise funds to start a business
When I started my entrepreneurial career, I funded my businesses with help from my family and friends and dreaded credit cards. I strongly advise not to do the latter! It can be hard to walk away from a business you have poured your heart and soul into and many entrepreneurs end up being forced to do this and then have to deal with an ugly amount of debt. Fortunately, the world of finance options has grown dramatically over the past decade. We look at all the options in this series and hopefully, you will get to see some success as we talk with VC’s, explore crowdfunding, ICOs, IEO, incubators, accelerators and many other ways to get a business where you need it to be.
Who are Fvtura
I was not aware of the growing sector that is “Social Impact Investing”. It is heartwarming to meet people who are not purely profit-driven. In the series, you will get a great insight into this space and I hope you get to see Fvtura realise its goals.
The term “changemaker” comes up a lot when I speak with Andrea. A changemaker is someone with a strong social conscience who is actually taking action. Andrea is such a person. The platform he has launched will help people already involved in positive projects with fundraising, finding others to work with and ultimately I think Fvtura.com will play a significant role in many peoples lives. The ambition is to change the world for the better and I have seen how one person can quickly inspire others and momentum can be built. Fvtura has three core mission categories.
- Happiness and Freedom
- The Environment
- Civilization Changemakers within Crypto
These core missions then break down into subcategories where people can list their project to raise funds, find a project to join or support a changemaker or project. You can get involved via this link.
I was fortunate to meet Andrea when he launched Fvtura and I have had the opportunity to observe an amazing group of people coming together to effect a positive impact on our planet. Some of the smartest people I have ever met are at the thinktanks I have attended. People from many walks of life, from C level executives to ambitious young people. They are currently expanding the platform and approaching venture capitalists and incubators. I hope to follow the Fvtura story closely and do my bit to help. Regular videos on this amazing project can be found here.
