Bitcoin resources to help you stay up to date
Finding and using the best Bitcoin resources should be a top priority for anyone new to this space. It is also time for many people who may have been in this space for a while to take a fresh look at their approach to their education and sources of information on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.
In many of our articles, we talk about Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies with the implication that we see these are separate things. We do. Whilst Bitcoin is a Cryptocurrency, for that matter so are most countries fiat currencies we have always seen Bitcoin as a separate entity to the hoards of scams and very questionable projects in the cryptocurrency space. This article is a short introduction to our updated Bitcoin resources directory.
As hardcore Bitcoiners, we are constantly devouring content. We set this site up nearly two years ago out of frustration at the lack of information on Bitcoin and to a large degree the standard of it. Its difficult to get heard in what fast became a crowded cryptocurrency media landscape. We are committed to this space and will remain so. We think this is even more important now as people have been burnt by lots of misinformation from what may have appeared to be reliable sources of information. Some big brands in this space will have to answer tough questions about their practices, at least they should have too.
The best Bitcoin resources we use daily
The full list of resources can be found in the resource tab but here are our daily go to sites.
- We always watch a couple of good YouTube channels and recommend Tone Vays for general Bitcoin info on his Bitcoin morning brief show. More on Tone in this article. If your trading he is a good resource and has a daily trading show. Other good YouTube channels are Crypto Cast Network, Andreas Antonopoulos, Block Digest, World Crypto Network and Trace Mayers content.
- We have created a twitter page of key industry people we follow you can view their latest crypto tweets here.
- Some of the team are involved in trading and the OTC market. They use these sites for daily network statistics.
Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency news websites
In general, we find that the big news websites in this space have proven themselves to be unreliable over the past year as they change their position on many things. The biggest player declared itself a Bitcoin cash website for example and then retracted this position fairly quickly. They also have shilled many many ICO’s which clearly have been scams. Sponsored content is all to often portrayed as news so be careful with many of these sites. The news is also often late and just short basic info. While we do scan headlines we feel the standard of journalism is pretty basic and we in the main use YouTube channels, Twitter and other alternative news sources which can be found in our resources section.
Great Bitcoin Books
We are compiling a comprehensive list of the best Bitcoin books and strongly recommend Saifedean Ammous. More books about Bitcoin can be found at this link.
Your ultimate resource to learn about Bitcoin
Personally, I have learnt the most by finding knowledgeable people at Bitcoin Meetups. These are great places to make new friends and talk Bitcoin. If you become a Bitcoiner, chances are you will get addicted to this space like we are and lose many of your old friends. They get bored of hearing about Bitcoin and you will be forced to make new friends.
Final note on Bitcoin Resources
Bitcoin has many facets and is many things to people. Overall it is a new monetary system and as such you will embark on a learning curve that will include a huge amount of learning on economics. Safideans book is a great starting place but you can also check out http://mises.org
